Chaoshan, Guangdong, China
Milanxiang, or Honey Orchid Fragrance, is one of the classic Fenghuang Dancong aroma types. This version comes from old trees growing in wild-style gardens at approximately 650–800 meters.
The trees are harvested by hand in March using one bud with three leaves. Processing includes sun drying, resting, repeated shaking and oxidation, fixation, rolling and drying.
The old-tree material gives the tea additional depth and the distinctive mineral and aromatic character traditionally described as mountain charm.
